Vegas Pro 8 is a professional-level video-editing and DVD-creation package that emphasizes using a single, customizable program for the creation process. Real-time playback of your edits, nondestructive editing, and unlimited undo/redo make tweaking your videos a snap, while dockable windows and customizable keyboard commands let you personalize the interface for your work style.
Media generators include credit rolls, text, solid colors, test patterns, noise texture, checkerboard, and color gradient. A new feature in Vegas Pro is the ProType Titler tool which is a very powerful feature. This tool can be used with phrases, words, and even at the character level. Some of the animations include character fly-ins, advanced curves, shadows, glows, blurs, and gradients. You can also adjust line and character spacing, and X/Y coordinate axis positioning with precision. It’s easy to sample media generators and video effects by mousing over the selection.
Vegas Pro integrates sophisticated audio editing, as you'd expect from the company that makes Sound Forge. You can encode full 5.1 surround sound, complete with 3D panning. On the video front, you'll find a wide variety of built-in filters and effects, automatic scene detection on import, and flexible tools for handling an unlimited number of video and audio tracks. Touches like the ability to set up to 99 numbered markers make it easier to navigate large video projects. New to the latest version is the ability to edit multiple-camera projects, switching among as many as 32 video sources; Vegas will keep unused shots available as alternate takes. |
